15,000 Syrian refugees are in interview process

Immigration Minister John McCallum has said that Canadian officials in different parts of the world are interviewing more 15,000 Syrian refugees. He said that resettling 25,000 refugees is huge task. He said that we have significantly increased the screening process. Every day 800 medical checks are being done and more than 500 Canadian officials are working on the ground in refugee camps overseas. Next plane-load of Syrian refugees is arriving in Toronto from Beirut on Dec 18. The government has promised to bring 10,000 refugees by the year end and 1,100 have already landed in the country. Another 15,000 refugees will arrive January and February next year. The government is expecting two flights of refugees arriving everyday between now
