BJP working president Nadda accorded ‘Z’ security cover
New Delhi: The government has decided to accord “Z” category security cover to BJP working president JP Nadda following a review undertaken by the security and intelligence agencies. The move is also indicative of Nadda’s enhanced political stature within the party. Now Nadda will be guarded by commandos of the CRPF round-the-clock, including his residence here, officials in the Ministry of Home Affairs said. The MHA took the decision while taking into consideration the increased threat perception to Nadda, they said, adding the new security architecture around him would be on all-India basis.
Roadways strike illegal, says Telangana HC
Hyderabad: In what can be termed as a major setback to the unions of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), a Vacation Bench of the Telangana High Court has declared the ongoing indefinite strike by employees as “illegal”, but at the same time the court has directed the Telangana Government to file a detailed reply by October 15 about the alternative arrangements made for commuters in view of the strike. The deadlock between the state and the agitating employees continues with the strike entering the sixth day.
SJM to hold nationwide protest against RCEP
New Delhi: The RSS-affiliated Swadeshi Jagaran Manch (SJM), which has been criticising the government “push” to include the Automatic Trigger Safeguard Mechanism in RCEP trade negotiations, will launch a nationwide protest against the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) from October 10 to October 20 in all district centres. The SJM will submit a memorandum to PM Narendra Modi through the District Magistrate in each district, said Ashwani Mahajan of the SJM in a statement, calling upon all affiliated and like-minded organisations and individuals to join the protest.
