Canada-India Parliamentary Friendship Group 

MP Sahota Declared Vice-President of the Canada-India Parliamentary Friendship Group 11/05/2016 – Ottawa, Ontario – Ms. Ruby Sahota, Member of Parliament for Brampton North, was declared Vice-President of the Canada-India Parliamentary Group at a meeting held on May 11th 2016. Historically, the Canada-India Parliamentary Friendship Group has been very active and plays an important role in supporting on-going parliamentary relations with India. This Friendship Group also provides an opportunity for parliamentarians interested in learning about India’s great diversity and strengthening their relations with key stakeholders. “I look forward to working with all my colleagues as I take on this new role as Vice President of this very important friendship group that will work at strengthening the ties between Canada and India.” said MP Ruby Sahota “For Canada, India is not just an important trading partner, but is a country that many Canadians have roots in, creating a special bond that cannot be ignored. After the Executive was formed, the Indian High Commissioner to Canada, Mr. Vishnu Prakash, spoke to the group, expressing his excitement about the Prime Minister’s expected visit to India in the near future. Mr. Prakash stressed the significance of this Friendship group and the potential it holds in molding the future of Canada-India relation
