Canadian star Milos Raonic, world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer headline star-studded player field

TORONTO, ON – {Jul 25 2014}-  Tennis Canada announced the official player acceptance list for the 2014 Rogers Cup presented by National Bank in Toronto. This year, all of the very best players in the world will be competing at Rexall Centre from August 2-10 as the Top 44-ranked athletes (as of the June 23 entry deadline) on the ATP World Tour have committed to coming to Toronto.

If eight days of the world’s best men’s tennis wasn’t enough, this year as a result of the efforts of Mr. Sandeep Lal and Mr. Pradeep Sood, the Rogers Cup will host the first ever South Asian Day on Aug 4.

Looking to encourage South Asian youth to pick up a racquet and increase the communities awareness towards the great programs Tennis Canada has in place, Sandeep and Pradeep called upon their friends to help build and support a day of South Asian entertainment and culture at one of the world’s premiere tennis events, The Rogers Cup.

What transpired was a group of organizations stepping forward to donate and support Tennis Canada’s South Asian initiative. Metro Label Company, NI-Met Metals & Minerals Inc., Gelda Scientific Gelda Foods, Dr. Anil Gupta,

ILC Micro-Chem Inc., Dev Dental, NMI Sales Tax Consultants, CSI Consulting, RBC, FinSec Services Inc., Scotiabank, Edward Jones, all have financially provided support in addition to the tournament sponsors, National Bank, Emirates and Rogers.

With such an outpouring of support from local businesses Tennis Canada has put together a great family fun day of programming showcasing South Asian culture. Ticket holders will enjoy three matches scheduled on centre court, on site South Asian dancers who will be performing & providing lessons to attendees, a Henna artist who will spend the day demonstrating Henna tattoos, a celebrity tennis match hosted by Mohit Rajhans and a spectacular live performance by Culture Shock’s Baba Kahn and Sunny Brown alongside mainstream superstar Karl Wolf and international dholi, Dholi Tanveer.

South Asian Day at the Rogers Cup will be a great way to spend holiday Monday. The kids can enjoy the Scavenger hunt brought to you by Disney XD while the rest of the family enjoys a day of South Asian Arts and Entertainment and witnesses some of the world’s best Tennis all hosted by Nalini Sharma.

As a result of the generosity of the supporters Tennis Canada has made available 200 level 100 tickets (regular price $70) for only $20. Visit www.rogerscup.com and use promo code SASIANRC14.

Hoping to make this an annual event, Mr Sandeep lal and Mr Pradeep Sood look to inspire the South Asian community as they strive to support Tennis Canada’s initiatives in developing Tennis across Canada.
