Cong workers protest fuel price hike

Fatehgarh Sahib: Workers of the district Youth Congress led by Mandeep Kaur Nagra, wife of MLA Kuljit Nagra, organised a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office to protest the recent hike in fuel prices. They raised slogans against the Modi government and burnt his effigy. They also blocked the traffic.Lashing out at the Centre, Mandeep Kaur said, “The Modi government has failed on all fronts. It came to power by making false promises of Rs 15 lakh in everyone’s account, to curb corruption, control price rise and to provide employment to youths, but unfortunately none of the promise has been fulfilled. Besides, the fuel prices are being increased daily. The common man particularly the farmers are the worst hit. The Union Government has looted Rs 10 lakh crore of the public by increasing the fuel prices.”Later, they presented a memorandum to the DC in this regard.
