BRAMPTON, ON – This past Sunday, City Councillor Gurpreet Dhillon held a shukrana kirtan at Dashmesh Darbar Gurdwara on Ebenezer Rd.

In his remarks, Councillor Dhillon spoke of his achievements in his first two years including being on the Blue Ribbon committee that helped bring a new university to Brampton, along with his successful motion to bring up to an additional 25,000 jobs and increased employment lands.

He also maintained that it was a joint effort with the residents.

“Over the course of the past two years, each and everyone of you played a special part in helping move our City forward,” said Councillor Dhillon. “Since my election, we have found solutions to the two most important issues mentioned in the previous election, which were the need for jobs and a university. We have much more to achieve, however we must remain united as a City to do so.”

In attendance were supporters, volunteers, provincial nominees, business leaders, and various members of media, community groups, and seniors clubs. Dignitaries included Mayor Linda Jeffrey, MP’s Ramesh Sangha, Sonia Sidhu, Raj Grewal, Kamal Khera, MPP Harinder Malhi, City Councillors Jeff Bowman, Pat Fortini, Peel School Trustee Harkirat Singh, Toronto School Trustee Avtar Minhas, Consul General Dinesh Bhatia, Brampton Fire Chief Michael Clark, and Police Board Chair Amrik Singh Ahluwalia. Also in attendance were Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra and Amrinder Gill, who were received a shield from Councillor Dhillon on the opening of their new movie ‘Sarvann’.
