Fate of 1st IPL qualifier hangs in balance

Toronto – The first qualifier of IPL 2014 that was to be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab IPL at Eden Gardens was washed out due to torrential rains in Kolkata today and now will be held tomorrow. But if rains create havoc even tomorrow, the game will be reduced to a five over match. If that, too, is ruled out, then the side which finished the league stage with more wins such as Punjab will progress into the final. The eliminator will be played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai.
