Government restores health care for refugees

Reversing the earlier decision taken by Harper government, the Liberal government has announced to restore full health care for refugees and also announced additional funding for agencies to help settle the Syrian refugees. Immigration Minister John McCallum made this announcement in Ottawa today. According the announcement, 36 refugee resettlement agencies will get 25 per cent increase in funding this year, and it will cost the government $3.6 million. New refugees will also get basic and supplemental health benefits. The country is expecting 10,000 Syrian refugees this year and additional 15,000 by February next year.
