Mahotsav SummerFest set to become the largest South Asian event of its kind in GTA
Mississauga – Mahotsav, the South Asian SummerFest is all set to provide a wholesome family entertainment in the GTA. This day-long event is scheduled to take place on July 11 at The International Centre (Hall 5) in Mississauga, Ontario.Mahotsav, is a public event showcasing the finest in South Asian arts, music, food, and culture. It is also a fund-raising event for Maple Diversity Foundation, a not-for-profit organization formed under Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (NFP Act). The Maple Diversity Foundation is committed to meaningful and early settlement of new immigrants and promotion of cultural diversity in Canada. This event is being managed and promoted by Maple Diversity Communications Inc., one of Canada’s prominent multicultural advertising agencies.“We want to give people in the Greater Toronto Area a wholesome entertainment along with their friends, family and the loved ones,” said Niraj Sinha, Managing Director of Maple Diversity Foundation. “There will be international and local performers, best of South Asian food, music and fashion.” The headline performer at this event will be Kanika Kapoor, who recently won the best female playback singer award at the recently concluded IIFA Awards in Malaysia. Another notable performer is Shweta Subram, who recently performed live at an event jointly addressed by the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and the Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper at Ricoh Coliseum. The PropheC and Parichay are among key performers at this event besides other local Canadian artists and performers.
