Maluka asks Khaira to prove allegations

Chandigarh: Former Akali minister Sikander Singh Maluka today dared Leader of Opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira and the Congress government to get a CBI inquiry conducted into the involvement of any Akali leader in charging “goonda tax” from any business.Reacting to a statement by Khaira in which he alleged that the Akali leader used to charge such illegal tax during the SAD-BJP regime, Maluka challenged Khaira to prove the charges or retire from politics.“I dare him to prove the allegations against me or any other Akali leader for charging such a tax. If proved, I will retire from politics, if not then Khaira must apologise and leave politics,” Maluka said in a statement. He reminded Khaira that an AAP MLA had been facing charges of receiving a share from tax collection. “Khaira should better come clean on the role of his own party leaders on the issue than making false allegations against me or other Akali leaders,” he added.
