CBI dismisses plea against Dr Manmohan Singh
New Delhi/ Oct.16,2015
In a big relief for former prime minister Manmohan Singh, a special CBI court has refused to summon him in the coal block allocation scam, saying he will not be an accused in the case. Former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda had demanded Manmohan be summoned as the additional accused. “We will think to appeal in SC against this decision. We will discuss this thing first as it is technical,” Koda told reporters.
Madhu Koda had alleged that Manmohan Singh also held the coal portfolio.
One of the 15 accused in the case, Madhu Koda moved an application seeking to summon Manmohan Singh and two others as additional accused in the case.
