  1. A large number of people gathered outside Rideau Hall to witness the swearing-in ceremony of Liberal party leader, Justin P.J. Trudeau who became the 23rd Prime Minister of Canada. The ceremony was held at Rideau Hall. Earlier Stephen Harper met with Governor-General David Johnston and officially handed over his resignation.
