The people stuck in the backlog have also been cleared and we have also introduced new Immigration programs to grow our economy. The spousal program was the first focus of the government after taking office, now the processing time of spousal immigration is decreased to half. In 2019 the government will be increasing the number to 20000 for people to sponsor their parents. Many other programs has also being launched to bring skilled people to Canada and increasing the number of jobs in Canada. On Syrian refugees and border crossings, Minister said we are a country of laws in which some are domestic and some are international and we have to respect for example if someone crosses the border the least we can do is to give them a hearing, rest our domestic laws are in place to keep the system smooth. There were asylum seekers that were coming to Canada during Harper government as well. On Government spending millions on refugees, Minister said I want to correct the misinformation that is being spread. Minister said we don’t want to make the same mistakes we made in the past such as Komagata Maru. We have an obligation as a country to give minimum support to refugees and also the process to put a refugee to work has also been stepped up by the Government. We don’t give support to refugees after one year. Syrian refugees are not getting anything special as compared to other refugees. On Integration on International students in the Canadian society, Minister said International students bring more money to Canada than softwood lumber. There were complaints in past on the number of International students coming to Canada so we increased and now people are complaining on the increased Numbers. International students are an important part of the Canadian society and they also contribute in the economy. We are talking with educational institutions regarding the orientation of International students. The local MPs are engaged with the community on the recent issues surfaced in regards to international students. On the question of why Canadians should Re-elect Liberal government, Minister Hussen emphasized that under the Trudeau Liberal government the economy has been great, unemployment is historic low so we request Canadians to see our track record so that they can give us a second mandate.
