Multiple Fraud Investigations: Toronto Police Say Tyrese Campbell-Fraser, 22, Facing 97 Charges

A news release was published on Wednesday, February 23, 2022:

Between April 2021 and February 2022, a man defrauded several individuals in the City of Toronto.

It is alleged that:

– a man would reach out to victims on Kijiji, Facebook Marketplace, and Snapchat

– he would agree to buy various pieces of merchandise, mainly designer shoes and clothing

– the man would meet the victims and pay for the items using fraudulent cheques that were deposited through mobile banking

– the cheques would be more than the items purchased, causing the victims to transfer the difference back to the man

– the cheques were placed on hold, and determined to be fraudulent

– the man would already have fled with the merchandise and money

Through investigation, the man was identified.

On Monday, June 27, 2022, Tyrese Campbell-Fraser, 22, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

  1. five counts of Fraud Over $5000
  2. 29 counts of Fraud Under $5000
  3. 30 counts of Causing Another Person to Act on a Forged Document
  4. four counts of Theft under $5000
  5. two counts of Utter Threats
  6. 27 counts of Failing to Comply with Probation

His last court appearance was at 1911 Eglington Avenue East, on Thursday, June 28, 2022.

Investigators believe there may be more victims. His photo has been released.

He is described as 6’0″, 180lbs, braided hair with fade on the sides, and has a black beard. He has tattoos of “Heaven Fraser” on right forearm, and “514” on his left forearm.
