No headway, aspiring teachers to gherao Singla
Sangrur, December 22
After meeting various organisations, TET-pass members of B.Ed and ETT pass unions today announced to gherao the residence of Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla on January 12 and the CM house on January 26 if the state government failed to start the process for their recruitment immediately.
During meeting, members of TET and B.Ed pass union, TET and ETT pass union, Democratic Teachers Front, Adhyapak Sangharsh Committee, government teachers union, Model School Employees Association, SSA RMSA Union, BKU Ugrahan, BKU Dakaunda, Mazdoor Mukti Morcha, Punjab Students Welfare Association, Krantikari Pendu Mazdoor Union and Punjab Radical Student Union were present at the city park in Sangrur.
“After a meeting today we have decided to continue our protest till our recruitment in the Education Department. We have decided to gherao the residence of Education Minister on January 12 and CM house on January 26 if the state government failed to start the process to recruit us,” said Sukhwinder Singh Dhilwan, president of ETT and B.Ed pass union, after meeting.
Members of both ETT and B.Ed pass unions have been sitting on an indefinite protests in Sangrur since the first week of September and demanding regular jobs.
