No rivalry with Anushka Sharma: Priyanka Chopra
By Shazia Malik
Toronto – Anushka is an amazing star and a dear friend so I have no rivalry with her. This was commented by Priyanka Chopra who was in Toronto recently to promote her Punjabi film, Sarvann. She was talking exclusively with Channel Y. She said the rumors of her rivalry were created by media alone. When asked that Anushka Sharma’s home production Phillauri with a Punjabi film star Diljit Dosanjh is scheduled for release on March 31 next year, Priyanka said she was not competing with Anushka in any way. She was not even aware that Anushka is producing a film. She said if Anushka is also producing a film, she hopes Anushka does well.
On the question of her inspirations, Priyanka said every day she feels like getting out of the bed and working and telling herself if she does not do it, someone else will fill in that space. She wants to venture in a number of avenues to leave behind a legacy for her kids. Priyanka was of the view that young girls should not copy anyone but be themselves. Times are still difficult for women, as they always have been but girls must know what is good for them. They should know what is best for them and not follow someone else because in doing so one loses one’s individuality and forgets who one is.
Priyanka also had all praise for her upcoming Punjabi movie, Sarvann saying it is a beautiful film and she is very proud of it. Launching the trailer of the movie she said the film narrates the heart-warming journey of a young NRI returning to India to find his root and discovers his identity. The film features Punjabi film star Amrinder Gill and is produced by Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra under their home banner. It is written and directed by Karan Guliani. The movie will hit the screens in December.
