Pak envoy hopes for resumption of talks
Fatehgarh Sahib: To resolve various issues, the stalled talks between India and Pakistan may start soon as efforts are being made in this regard, says Sohail Mehmood, Pakistan High Commissioner to India. He was in the town today to pay obeisance at Rauza Sharif here on the occasion of Urs. He interacted with visiting Pak pilgrims.Mehmood said religious exchanges would play a positive role in strengthening relations as the pilgrims were given rousing reception and showered love by the people of all faiths on both sides.On Pakistan pilgrims’ demand for relaxed visa norms, he said he was aware of the problem and would take up the issue with the authorities concerned.He told them that despite strained relations with India, visas were being issued to pilgrims. He said it was high on the agenda of the Pakistan government to increase the number. He advised the pilgrims that they should not bother over petty issues as they had brought the message of love, brotherhood and peace and had come to pay obeisance at Rauza Sharif.
