Peel Police – Arrest Man for Attempted Murder in Mississauga
Region of Peel– Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested a man in regards to an attempt murder investigation that occurred in the City of Mississauga.
On Thursday, July 5, 2016, a 27 year-old female victim and the accused male were present at an apartment building located in the area of Dundas Street East and Tomken Road in the City of Mississauga. The victim and the accused became involved in an altercation at which point the victim was stabbed. The accused fled the scene and the victim contacted emergency services for assistance. Investigators identified the accused and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
The accused had been actively evading police since the incident and fled the country for a period of time in an attempt to avoid answering to the charge.
Since that time, investigators developed new information on the whereabouts of the accused and on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, the accused was arrested at a residence in the Town of Oakville.
Kemar Erskine, a 33 year-old man from Oakville, has been charged with Attempt Murder and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Thursday, October 18, 2018.
The victim in this incident has since recovered from her injuries.
