Peel Police Arrests 7 Males for Robbery
Brampton– Investigators from Peel Regional Police 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged seven males in connection with a robbery involving a replica handgun.
On Friday March 17, 2017 at 4:50 p.m., the two victims were at the Bramalea City Centre when they were approached by a group of males. One of the males showed the victims the butt of a firearm and made a demand for cash. The suspects then fled in and around the Bramalea City Centre. The victims did not sustain any injuries.
Uniform officers from 21 Division were quick to respond to the area. With the assistance of loss prevention officers and surveillance footage, all the parties were identified and taken into custody without incident, less than 2 hours after the call was placed to police.
Edgar KOROMA, an 18 year old male from Brampton, has been charged with robbery. KOROMA will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at the A. Grenville & William Davis Courthouse in Brampton on April 20, 2017.
Six young offenders have also been charged. 4 are 14 years of age, 1 is 15 years old and 1 is 16 years old. The 16 year old male has also been charged with Disguise with Intent. A replica firearm was recovered from one of the young persons during his arrest. All parties reside in Brampton.
The young persons will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at the A. Grenville & William Davis Courthouse in Brampton on April 18, 2017.
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identity of the Young Person charged in this investigation is protected.
