Peel Regional Police – Appeal for Witnesses in Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision in Brampton
Brampton – Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in their investigation into a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred in Brampton.
On Monday December 5, 2016 at approximately 7:00 a.m. a black Hyundai Sonata was travelling northbound on Highway 50 at Cottrelle Boulevard in the City of Brampton. The vehicle proceeded to turn westbound onto Cottrelle Boulevard at which time a transport truck travelling southbound struck the vehicle in the intersection. The vehicle then struck a black Acura that was stopped at the intersection.
As a result of the collision, 77 year-old female Nirmala BHANDARI of Woodbridge was pronounced deceased at the scene. Three other female occupants in the car Veena BHANDARI 52 year-old from Woodbridge, Neha BHANDARI a 29 year-old from Woodbridge and Diya BHANDARI a 6 year-old from Woodbridge were transported to Toronto Trauma Centres and all remain in serious but stable condition.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision, have video footage of the incident or who may have information regarding the actions of the drivers prior to the collision.
