Petition to rename Calgary airport as Stephen J. Harper International

An online petition is circulating to rename the Calgary International Airport after outgoing prime minister Stephen J. Harper. The petition was created by R.Curtis Mullen and it already has more than two thousand signatures.
Stephan Harper is originally from Ontario and moved to Alberta in seventies to work in the petroleum industry. He has a permanent home in Calgary, and was re-elected as MP for the riding of Calgary Heritage.
And not everybody agree with this and another petition is circulating to counter this petition and same numbers of people have signed the counter-petition.
Some other airports have been named after former prime ministers, including Montreal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson International Airport and Saskatoon’s John G. Diefenbaker International Airport. and each of those airports were renamed in honour of the former prime ministers after the leaders had died.
