Progressive Punjab Summit: 4G connectivity to all villages, medical university in Punjab
India’s leading corporate of pharmaceutical companies and medical institutions, Fortis group would set up a medical university in Punjab. Group chief Malvinder Singh announced this today, while speaking at the Progressive Punjab summit in Mohali, hosted by the government of Punjab.
Reliance Industries have announced to provide 4G connectivity to all villages and schools in Punjab. Making this announcement at the summit, group chairman Mukesh Ambani said that Punjab would be the first state in the country to have 4G connectivity in all villages. He said that the internet connectivity on this scale would be game changer in the state and will usher in a new era of progress in the province.
Encouraged by the response of investers, Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal said that Punjab would be the most favoured investment destination, not only in the country, but all over the world. He said that investors have signed 376 Memorandums of Understanding with the state government of over 17 billion US dollars. This investment will create 2.50 lakh new jobs in the state.
During the summit, Adani Enterprises chairman Gautam Adani announced setting up of a Rs 3700 crore power plant in Punjab. Realty giant DLF vice chairman Rajiv Singh has announced to invest Rs 9000 crore in the state over the next few years, Hero Realty announced to invest Rs 700 crore in a group Housing Project in Punjab. India’s leading private bank, ICICI bank has also announced to double its network of over 200 bank branches in the state.
