‘Proud that we aren’t scared’: Deepika Padukone comments on CAA protests across India 

Deepika Padukone is currently looking forward to and excited for the much-anticipated release of Chhapaak which not only will see her turn into a producer but fans will also Deepika play a character of an acid attack survivor, something she has never attempted before. Currently, the actress is quite busy with the promotions of the film and during one of these interviews, Deepika was asked to voice her opinion on the ongoing protests against the Citizenship Amendment Bill across India. Deepika spoke up about the issue and said that how she was proud that we as a society are not scared. She said, “It’s nice to see people coming out on the streets. I feel proud that people are voicing their opinion whether on the streets or from their homes.”

“If we want to see any change in our life or our society, it is extremely important to keep all points of view on the table,” she added. On a lighter note, during another interview, the actress was further asked about her future projects and if fans will ever get to see her and Salman Khan together in a film to which the actress replied, “Our fans are always curious about if we are doing a film together, about when we are doing a film together. I really want to do it but I think it’s important for us to come together for the right kind of film. We have always seen Salman in certain types of films. I am the biggest fan of ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ and I would like to see him in that kind of a role or something different from what he has done, so I think it’s really the script (that matters). We have not been offered anything in recent times but I would love to do a film with him.” On a lighter note, during another interview, the actress was further asked about her future projects and if fans will ever get to see her and Salman Khan together in a film to which the actress replied, “Our fans are always curious about if we are doing a film together, about when we are doing a film together. Meanwhile, directed by Meghna Gulzar Chhapaak is all set to release on January 10, 2020. The film also stars Vikrant Massey in an important role.

Chhapaak will lock horns with Ajay Devgn, Kajol, and Saif Ali Khan starrer Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior which is also releasing on the same day.
