Rahul urges PM to build airport at Kota
New Delhi, November 1
Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to either upgrade the existing airport at Kota or build a new one.
In a letter to PM Gandhi said “let’s strive to bring Vikas to Kota”.
Referring to the coaching hub of Kota in Rajasthan, Gandhi said 1.5 lakh students annually take coaching classes in the city and are hassled by lack of commercial flights to and from the city.
The Airports Authority of India operates an airport at Kota but that airport is ill equipped to handle large commercial flights, said Gandhi.
He said Kota will benefit immensely from improved connectivity to India’s metropolitan centres owing to its strategic location on India’s tourist map, its strong industrial base and its local craft.
The letter comes on the eve of state elections where the Congress is pitted directly against the incumbent BJP.
