Raj Grewal Wins Liberal Nomination in Brampton East
Nomination meeting sets record for largest meeting in the country
BRAMPTON – Raj Grewal won the largest nomination in the country yesterday in Brampton East. The meeting, which saw almost 3,000 people cast a ballot, set a record as the largest meeting yet for the Liberal Party and showed the increasing support for party in the Greater Toronto Area.
“I am truly humbled to be nominated as the Liberal Party candidate in Brampton East,” said Raj. “The sheer size of yesterday’s nomination shows that the Liberal Party, under Justin Trudeau, has the momentum. “
After receiving the nomination, Raj addressed the thousands of supporters that had stayed into the evening to hear the results. He spoke about the hard work that had lead up to his nomination and his dedication to the people of Brampton East. Raj also spoke about his vision for Canada and the challenges that hard working middle class families face.
“This nomination is only the first step in bringing the Liberal Party back to Brampton East,” said Raj. “Over the coming months I look forward to meeting many more residents as we prepare for the 2015 election. As the newest member of Team Trudeau, I am looking forward to sharing the Liberal Party’s progressive vision for Canada.”
