Rs 1 lakh in fake currency seized in West Bengal; man arrested 

Malda, October 7

A man had been arrested with Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICNs) with a face value of Rs 1 lakh in West Bengal’s Malda district, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, officers raided Sahabajpur village under Kaliachak police station limits and nabbed 36-year-old Rafiq-ul-Momin, seizing 50 FICNs of Rs 2,000 denomination each from his possession, Superintendent of Police Alok Rajoria said.

A case under the IPC had been registered at Kaliachak police station, he added.
