‘Sarbat Khalsa’ in Amritsar on November 10
Some radical groups have announced to hold ‘Sarbat Khalsa’, an open congregation of Sikhs, on November 10, in Amristar.
The congregation will discuss recent incidents of Sri Akal Takhat ‘hukamnama’ and sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib and a plan of action would be announced. Mohkam Singh, president of United Akali Dal, and Karnail Singh, president, All India Sikh Students Federation, said that the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ is being held according to the well established traditions of the ‘Sikh panth’. To prepare agenda of the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’, a special meeting has been called in Jalandhar on October 31. The congregation is expected to make some important statement about the functioning of the ‘five jathedars’, Sikh high priests.
