The Anganwadi workers on Wednesday gheraoed the District Administrative Complex (DAC) in Muktsar and demanded increase in their honorarium.
Later, they handed over a memorandum to the district administration and dispersed. We will intensify the stir in coming days.”
Asimilar protest was held in Jalandhar. Members of the anganwari workers’ union led the protest march. They alleged that the Congress government had promised to hike their honorarium, but failed to do so. They said they would intesify the protest soon.
