  1. PM Justin Trudeau will meet French PM Manuel Valls today in Ottawa and host dinner for him. Topics of mutual interest will be discussed.
  2. Canada’s first female PM Kim Campbell has slammed Trump. She said during a TV interview that he is a self-celebrating sexual predator. She said touching without consensus is termed as sexual assault. Though Trump had apologised for his comments but people are still annoyed. Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau as yet has not commented on Trump in particular or US elections in general.
  3. A Fraser Institute study shows that over 45,000 Canadians sought treatment abroad in 2015. Even during the election debate Trump called Canadian healthcare system as slow and catastrophic.
  4. Police is searching for the missing 49-year-old Sunil Kumar Soni. He is missing from Monday 8am in the area of his residence on Peachill Court, in Brampton He is described as male, south Asian, 5’5” tall, medium build, medium length black hair, brown eyes and last seen wearing a dark coloured short sleeve shirt, grey dress pants and slippers. It is unusual for him not to have returned home and not to have contacted family members.
  5. Police is seeking witnesses in Brampton accident in which four died. Those who died were identified as 16-year-old Michelle Bouchard, her 22-year-old sister Lauren Bouchard and Lauren’s 24-year-old boyfriend Brian McGinnis when their car became involved in a two-car collision at Bovaird and Gillingham drives on Monday night.

  11. Pakistani journalist Cyril Almeida expects worst action from Nawaz Sharif government. The Dawn in its latest editorial has spoken in favour of Cyril who wrote an article on civilian government urging military establishment to crackdown on terrorists. PMO denied these reports but the newspaper says the article was written after thorough  investigation and fact checking.

Three Congress legislators Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Amrik Singh Dhillon and Balbir Singh Sidhu have said AAP candidate Kanwar Sandhu took favours from the Akalis after he accused the Congress of colluding with the ruling Akali Dal on illegal mining. Congress leaders alleged Sandhu is a golak chor as he got his son’s admission against an NRI seat in the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC)-run Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Amritsar, where Sandhu, then a working journalist, had reportedly sought fee-waiver from the apex religious body. Congress leaders alleged that Sandhu also got a plot allotted in Chandigarh’s Medicity in an illegitimate manner. They said Sandhu should also explain why he took favours in the form of a plot in Medicity. Sandhu said if Congress proves he took plot, it will be given to Congress and his son got admission on merit.
  16. AAP leader Bhagwant Mann through a video on social media has said he shall take on Sukhbir Singh Badal directly after being questioned on being absent from party politics.
  17. Congress leader Capt Amarinder Singh stormed into a police station and accused the SHO of threatening Congress party workers. He said if his party comes to power he will stop police accesses.
  18. Punjab farmers are protesting because they say they are getting less than MSP, They said government is not fulfilling its promising and rice millers and commission agents have a political nexus.
  19. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal will start Punjab tour and release during three days industry manifesto on October 23. Earlier the party released youth and farmer manifestos. Kejriwal will focus on Punjab’s trader community. On day one, Kejriwal will reach Ludhiana and release the party’s third manifesto for the industrial community. He will hold a meeting with the industrialists at Mandi Gobindgarh the same evening and then travel to Sangrur. Kejriwal will hold a meeting with the traders in Sangrur in the morning and have lunch with industrialists in Bathinda on day two. On October 24 evening, he will interact with the community in Jalandhar and stay over in Doaba. AAP state joint secretary Major Singh shared this information with media.
  20. On the third day of his tour, he will move to Majha. He will interact with the traders in Batala in the morning. His lunch has been fixed with industrialists in Gurdaspur. He will be moving to Amritsar soon after for another meeting with the community there, before returning to Delhi.
  21. The newly elected AAP NRI wing head Jagtar Sanghera has cancelled his Toronto tour as the party feels he should focus more on his own constituency.
  22. Congress leader Capt Amarinder Singh has said he will order CBI probe into food scam once his party comes in power.
  23. Young cricketers Babar and Nawaz are likely to debut for Pakistan in historic 400th Test at the Dubai International Stadium. Both showed good form during domestic cricket. The Pakistan team will use a pink ball and play at night against the West Indies.
