  1. A Forum Poll survey shows that support for federal Liberals has dropped from 51 to 42%, Conservative have 34 % support, and NDP at 12%. The Liberal support has reduced more in BC and Ontario.
  2. Heavy snow continues in GTA. About 100 flights have been cancelled and several collisions were reported on Hwy 403 that was closed for a short while but now it is open.
  3. A $21 million dollar lawsuit has been filed by a bullet victim in Brampton. In a complaint the 23-year-old Suzan Zreik has mentioned Peel police board and Peel police chief. She was hit by a bullet during a search operation while she was in the kitchen and was rushed to the hospital. Peel police spokesperson has not commented on the matter saying the case is in court.
  4. US President-elect Donald Trump has questioned the one-China policy. China has retaliated saying it will aid US enemies if provoked.
  5. Though India wishes China to stand by it on NSG and Masood Azhar’s issue but China has clarified there is no change in its stand on these issues.
  6. India and Indonesia have vowed to deepen cooperation to combat terror and share intelligence. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indonesian President Joko Widodo have said the two countries share diversity and social harmony.
  7. Venezuela has ordered to withdraw 100-unit bank notes out of circulation under its demonetization drive. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has announced the move.
  8. Lieutinent General Naveed Mukhtar has been appointed chief of Pakistan’s ISI in a major reshuffle.
  9. Sixteen kilogram gold biscuits have been recovered from baby diapers at Delhi airport. Six people have been arrested. Gold is being recovered in raids in Chennai, Hyderababd and other areas.
  10. Cyclone Vardah is lashing Tamil Nadu. It has killed two and displaced 100,000 people who have left homes and reached safe places.
  11. In Punjab, nearly 600 people are killed in fog-related accidents every year. Several accidents have already taken place this year also.
  12. Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has said he will continue to stake claim on Punjabi speaking areas such as Chandigarh and river waters.
  13. Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal has said Bathinda airport will boost Malwa’s growth. Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju inaugurated the civil air terminal on the occasion of the Delhi-Bathinda-Delhi flight today. Also present was Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal. Sukhbir said besides the current airports, an additional airport had been approved at Adampur. He also disclosed that the Delhi-Amritsar-Birmingham flight had also been accorded sanction by the Union Government which would improve the state’s connectivity with the United Kingdom. He said soon foundation stone will be laid for a civil airport at Adampur in Jalandhar on December 16,
  14. Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal launched water buses and said those who were against it can pack their clothes and go out of Punjab. He invited Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann and Capt to ride on this 4km run. Congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal has criticized saying many such promises were made in the past also.
  15. AAP leader Kejriwal has said due to anti-farmer policies of the Badal government farmers are committing suicide. He added Badals have destroyed an entire generation of Punjab with drugs.
  16. AAP’s founding members C.M. Lakhanpal and P.K. Sharma along with Colonel Iqbal Pannu and Bharpur Singh have joined Congress. Congress leader Capt Amarinder Singh has welcomed the move adding AAP’s graph is declining in Punjab.
  17. AAP’s Gurpreet Ghuggi will contest from Batala. AAP’s Delhi MLA Jarnail Singh may contest against Parkash Singh Badal from Lambi and AAP’s Himmat Singh Shergill may contest against Bikram Majithia. He is the head of AAP’s legal cell in Punjab and fighting cases filed by Majithia against AAP.
  18. Dharamvira Gandhi’s front will announce 20 candidates tomorrow. This was informed by Manjit Singh. Gandhi on this occasion said the agenda will be Punjab but honesty remains the top priority of his party. He informed there was a long list of candidates that was screened. Gandhi’s party might contest on 50 seats.
  19. In the fourth Test that was being played at Wankhede Stadium, India beat England by an innings and 36 runs. England made 400 and 195 runs. India made 631 in reply and won series 3-0. Many new records were set. Earlier in 17 tests India did not lose any matches but won only four, drew 12 and one was a tie. However, now India has won 13 matches and drawn 4. Under Kohli India has won six Test series. Before that it only happened in 2008 and 2010. Details are India won against Bangladesh (1 Test) last year, followed by Sri Lanka (away), South Africa (home), West Indies (away), New Zealand (home) and now England. This is the first time in India that a visiting team has lost a Test match after scoring 400 runs in their first innings. It was in 1930 that England made over 400 but lost against Australia. Sri Lanka made over 400 runs but lost. Kohli also is the first Indian caption to make three centuries.
  20. India beat South Africa 2-1 in Junior Hockey World Cup in Lukhnow. India has won all three matches and has nine points. It has reached quarter finals. South Africa is out of the tournament. Canada has lost both its matches – one against India 4-0 and the second against South Africa. Canada’s last match is against England. More or less England has reached quarter finals.
