  1. People across the world are marking Guru Nanak’s birthday. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and others government officials have greeted community on this sacred occasion.
  2. Prime Minister Trudeau, Finance Minister Bill Morneau and Infrastructure Minister Amarjit Sohi are meeting the rich and influential group to invest in infrastructure. It is estimated that they have CAN $21 trillion net worth and Trudeau’s dream to set-up a private sector bank can be realized.
  3. Conservative MP Kelly Leitch did not take part in the leadership debate on Sunday after she received the news of a break-in attempt at her house and so she returned. Out of the 12 who are in leadership race, 10 participated in the debate. Leitch has been receiving threats for some time. Leitch earlier congratulated Trump after winning and wants the same ideas to be applied here. She also said all immigrants should be screened for Canadian values. Deepak Obhrai has rejected her ideas.
  4. Trudeau has embarked on Cuba visit to enhance relations. His father Pierre Trudeau was the first Nato leader to meet Fidel Castro in 1976.
  5. Child poverty in kids in Toronto is the highest and stands at 27%, Montreal 25%, Hamilton 21%, Peel 19%, Calgary 13% and Halton 10%.
  6. A man has died and 14 others injured following a five-vehicle pileup on Highway 401 on Sunday evening.
  7. On Sunday an anti-Trump rally was held outside US consulate at Nathan Phillips Square. A similar rally in favour of Trump was also held here.
  8. President-elect Donald Trump in his first interview to CBS’s 60-minutes once again reiterated that illegal immigrants will be deported or jailed, a wall be erected along USA-Mexico border but did not give any concrete plan for jobs.
  9. Peel Region Chair Frank Dale has once again urged local municipal to see the GTA West Corridor project is considered. Last December, Ontario Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca suspended the proposal of GTA West project after receiving news on environmental concerns. The highway stretches from Vaughan in the east to the Hwy. 401/407 ETR interchange in the west. Frank Dale has asked the provincial government to look at the project once again as it is critical to the region’s economic development.

  12. PTI chairman Imran Khan has said Nawaz Sharif has offshore accounts and that money must be brought back. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court inquiry against Sharif’s family is already on. PML (N) also wants others to be scrutinized.
  13. Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Badal has asked Congress to attend special session of parliament on November 16. Congress has said it will only attend if the government takes stand. Meanwhile, on SYL defence the government has spent IRs7 crore this year alone.
  14. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has rejected opposition’s demand for demonetisation rollback. Talking during a meeting on Sunday, Modi said that deadline for currency spike has been extended. Mirco ATMs have been set up for people to get money easily. Separate lines for seniors have also being introduced. Modi also said because of this move people are with BJP. The poor re sleeping soundly but the corrupt are not. He has asked BJP to defend this agenda.
  15. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s currency spike poor are camping outside banks but Modi’s friends are sleeping peacefully. Meanwhile, BJP’s allies are defending the move. Also West Bengal’sChief Minister Mamta Banerjee and Congress are speaking against demonetization.
  16. AAP released its fourth list of 18 candidates for Punjab Assembly poll recently that also included Sarabjit Kaur, 71, wife of late Akali leader Capt Kanwaljit Singh. Punjab Depiuty Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has said that Akal Dal will release its first list in two days first list. Cong list is also ready but high command’s nod is required.
  17. The first Test between India-England was tied at Rajkot. India will be under pressure for the second test.
  18. In the second Test between Australia and South Africa, Australia was all out 85 in the first innings and is playing at 121/2. South Africa in reply made 326 in the first innings.
