Those present included MPs Choudhary Santokh Singh, SS Dullo, Partap Bajwa and Ravneet Bittu, former Union Ministers Ashwani Kumar, Manish Tewari and Preneet Kaur, and leaders such as Sunil Jakhar, Lal Singh, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Ashwani Sekhri, Manpreet Badal, MS Kaypee, among others. A Cobgress leader said the party is asking questions like if Pargat is to be fielded from his current seat Jalandhar Cantt, what will happen to Jagbir Brar, Congress candidate who lost this seat to him earlier in 2012? Similarly Sarwan Singh Phillaur is seeking a ticket from Phillaur, which Congress MP Santokh Singh’s son Vikramjit is also seeking. Dinesh Bassi, Punjab Youth Congress leader, has been working in Amritsar East for long, in a hope to get ticket. But Congress might consider giving this seat to Navjot Kaur. Same is the case with Amritsar South, which is represented by Bolaria.
