  1. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has faced backlash after positive comments on Fidel Castro. He said that the late president as a legendary revolutionary and a good friend of his father’s. Howver, his comments have been condemned by USA and the Conservative party leaders. Trudeau though defended his comments but called Castro a dictator.
  2. A Stats Canada survey has found that about 970 regular force members have been victims of sexual assault, or 1.7 per cent of all soldiers, sailors and aviators, had been victims within the past 12 months. The reported rate of sexual assault among all working Canadians in any situation is 0.9 per cent, thus it is higher.
  3. John McCallum, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship has said those who are fit to study here, are fit to stay in Canada as well.
  4. International students in Canada discussed their problems on Channel Y for two hours and informed about the problems they face all the time. The issues discussed were immigration, not enough support from community, housing and job availability.
