  1. Donald Trump wins elections and will be the 45th President of USA. He thanked Hillary and said he will build the country.
  2. Leader of Opposition Rona Ambrose has said Canada and USA has a 150-year-old relation and they wish to work with USA. Conservative leadership candidate Kelly Leitch said she hoped his victory and is happy he has won. She said Trump’s policy of screening immigrants will be done here as well.
  3. Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne was shocked on Trump’s victory and looked worried for Ontario’s economy.
  4. Trudeau congratulates Trump and said he looks forward to work closely with him.
  5. France’s President Francois Hollande has said Trump win ‘opens a period of uncertainty’.
  6. EU though earlier considered working with Trump a problem has said the body would like to work closely with it.
  7. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has congratulated Donald Trump saying Germany and America are bound by their values.
  8. Turkey’s Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has urged Donald Trump to extradite a US-based Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen, blamed by Ankara for the failed coup in July.
  9. Russian President Vladimir Putin was among the first leaders to congratulate Trump. He said Russia is ready to restore ties with USA.
  10. Chinese President Xi Jingping tells Trump his country look forward to expanding ties with USA.
  11. Indian PM Modi tweeted: “We appreciate the friendship you have articulated towards India during your campaign,” and hoped to take their relationship to new heights in the coming days.
  12. Iraqi leaders have asked Trump to keep their solid base in this country.
  13. Iran has urged Trump to uphold nuclear deal during his presidency as during the election campaign he said he will scrape the Iran deal.
  14. Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has congratulated Trump adding his country will work closely with USA.
  15. Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said the government’s decision to withdraw IRs 500 and IRs 1,000 notes will move the country towards a cashless economy.
  16. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has defended the move saying the step was taken against corruption. Meanwhile, the banks will remain open on weekend.
  17. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has supported Modi saying the government’s decision to withdraw IRs 500 and IRs 1,000 notes is the right step.
