Yuvraj’s stunning performance fashions Bangalore’s victory
Toronto – A stunning match winning performance by Yuvraj Singh who made 68 off 29 balls led to the victory of Royal Challengers Bangalore who beat Delhi Daredevils by 16 runs. The Chinnaswamy Stadium was on fire where Yuvraj smashed opposition with nine sixes and a four thus putting up a daunting 186 run target. The bowlers also did a brilliant job and restricted Delhi to 170 runs for seven in the 20-over match that was 70 minutes behind schedule due to rain.
Showing his best Yuvraj shattered the nerves of all bowlers – South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir, Mohammed Shami and Siddarth Kaul who had already realized containing him would be an uphill task. The last over of Rahul Shukla saw more brilliant streaks from the star batsman who made 27 runs off six balls. With this victory Yuvraj has once again broken the shackles of bad omen and given clear signals of his return in this format of the game.
After this victory, Bangalore stands at sixth position with eight points while Delhi pines at the bottom with four points from 10 matches as they now face an uphill task to qualify for the play-offs.
