Students hold candlelight march to motivate voters

Abohar, October 14

To sensitise voters about the importance of participation in an electoral process to ensure a democratically elected government, the Rajasthan Scouts and Guides organised a candlelight march in the first phase of an awareness programme under Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) in Hanumangarh on Saturday night. The state will go to the polls on December 7.

Besides faculty members and officials of various departments, hundreds of scouts, guides and students of Guru Nanak Khalsa College of Education participated in the march.

District Collector Dinesh Chander Jain flagged off the march from near the railway station. The participants carried motivational placards, banners and candles. They passed through the main bazaar and halted at Bhagat Singh Chowk where Jain urged the youth to exercise their franchise without ant fear or influence.
