‘War’ Box Office Report Day 2: Despite a 55% drop, Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff’s film mints Rs 74 crore

Even before War hit the screens it was sure that the film will be a hit among the masses. The reason, it’s Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff together in the same frame for the very first time and that too in a high-octane action film. The film also marks Hrithik’s return to Yash Raj Films after 16 years and Tiger’s first with them. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand and also stars Vaani Kapoor as the female lead.

On its opening day, War made about Rs 51.50 crore and now the second-day collections are out. As per Box Office India, Hrithik and Tiger’s film has made about Rs 22.50 crore on Thursday. The total collections until now are Rs 74 crore. This means the film will surely enter Rs 100 crore club before the long weekend ends.

Wednesday – Rs 51.50 crore approx

Thursday – Rs 22.50 crore approx

TOTAL – Rs 74 crore approx

Talking about this tremendous response, Hrithik told in a statement, “It is an incredible response to our hard work and I’m truly grateful to the audiences for loving our film. When we decided to make War, we were clear that we were attempting to do something that has never been done in Indian cinema and we went all out to make it happen. So, it’s hugely validating to see the fantastic response of the people enjoying our action entertainer in the theatres. As an actor, you live and thrive for such moments and I’m truly blessed that our film is getting such overwhelming love. I congratulate my partner in crime Tiger, my director Sid, YRF for its belief and the incredible effort to make this film spectacular, Vaani and everyone associated with this film at this incredible moment. The entire team worked really really hard on War and it’s amazing to see this kind of euphoria around our movie.”
