Brampton Shooting: Police Arrest 2, Issue Warrant Against Harnoor Thind, 20, From Brampton

Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested two men and issued a warrant for a third man, after a shooting in the City of Brampton.

On Monday, June 20, 2022, just after 11:00 p.m., police were called to the area of Sandalwood Parkway and Chinguacousy Road in Brampton for reports of gun fire. Upon arrival officers located a 20-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a trauma centre and is currently in stable condition. The investigation has identified three men involved.

Alexander Maharaj, an 18-year-old man from Brampton, is charged with the following offences:

  • Accessory After the Fact to Commit an Indictable Offence
  • Attempted Murder Using Firearm

Rithushan Kumarathasan, a 19-year-old man from Brampton, is charged with the following offence:

  • Accessory After the Fact to Commit an Indictable Offence

A warrant is being sought for the arrest of Harnoor Thind, a 20-year-old man from Brampton.

Harnoor Thind is encouraged to speak with legal counsel, and make arrangements to surrender himself to police.
