The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of two arrests made in a homicide investigation.
On Monday, March 20, 2023, at approximately 4:11 p.m., police responded to a shooting at Fairview Mall in the Sheppard Avenue East and Don Mills Road area.
It is reported that:
- officers arrived on scene and located two men who had been shot in the underground parking lot
- A 25-year-old man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
- A 25-year-old man was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries
- a third man who had been shot was dropped off at hospital and was pronounced deceased a short time later
On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, two men were arrested.
Ahmed Mohamad, 25, of Toronto, has been charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Possess Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
Samir Mohamed Unoos, 25, of Toronto, has been charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Possess Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
They attended court virtually at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 10 a.m., in room 306.
