Four Toronto residents face 142 charges in Scarborough stolen vehicle ring investigation; firearm and $27,000 seized

The Toronto Police Service (TPS) is investigating a fatal shooting that took place in the Greenhills neighbourhood on Monday night.

Officers were called to 85 Clearview Heights, a low-rise apartment building near Trethewey Drive and Black Creek Drive, shortly after 8 p.m. following reports of gunshots.

A man in his 20s was found at the scene with gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but sadly was pronounced dead. TPS has not yet released the victim’s identity as they are waiting to notify his next of kin.

Residents told that they heard two or three gunshots before seeing the victim run out of the building and collapse in the rear parking lot. Good Samaritans performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

The Homicide Unit is now leading the investigation. Duty Inspector Scott Shutt mentioned they have no suspect or vehicle description at this time. “Our officers are on scene speaking with witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage,” Shutt said.
