Peel Regional Police have arrested and charged four young persons regarding an attempted robbery that occurred in the City of Brampton.
On Friday, May 27, 2022, at approximately 10:00 p.m., it is alleged that four suspects were operating a stolen white Nissan Pathfinder parked in the area of Dust Drive and Chinguacousy Road in the City of Brampton. This vehicle was stolen from Durham Region on May 22, and identified as being used in three previous pharmacy robberies throughout the Greater Toronto Area. With the occupants donning masks and clothing to conceal their identity, police intervened and affected the arrest of suspects ahead of a robbery occurring.
The four young persons have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and attempt to commit an indictable offence.
One of the suspects was found to be in possession of an edged weapon identified as being used in several other pharmacy robberies in Peel Region and was charged with an additional count of carrying a concealed weapon, Robbery x4 and Wear a Disguise x4.
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identity of the Young Persons charged in this investigation is protected.
