You read that right! On February 18th, families can take their kids and their favourite toy and visit the GO Transit booth at York Concourse at Union Station, between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and get a FREE custom GO Toy Pass! The pass contains the toy’s photo along with quirky details such as its “special power” and who their “best friend” is (which is obviously the kid!) Important safety information for kids to know when riding on GO is also included on the back of the card.
This event is being held as a reminder of GO Transit’s “Kids GO Free” policy, under which kids 12 and under always travel for free on GO buses and trains. GO wants to emphasize that it can help families of all backgrounds to stay connected and to get wherever they need to go, while being wholeheartedly accommodating of kids and their favorite toy travel companions!
In case families are unable to make it to the February 18th event, they can visit www.gotransit.com/toypass and follow some simple instructions to make the pass for their kid’s toy right at home!
GO Transit has also taken many steps to make kids’ rides more appealing and their journeys more enjoyable, such as a GO colouring book which features many instances of GO’s beloved mascot – GO Bear (who will also be at the Union Station event ready to offer high-fives and take selfies!)
GO Transit has numerous connection options across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton regions, which enables families to plan their next adventure and visit popular attractions like Hockey Hall of Fame, Royal Ontario Museum, Ripley’s Aquarium, and scenic destinations like Niagara Falls and Barrie. With March Break just around the corner, families can start planning adventures throughout the week and take advantage of GO’s Weekday Group Pass which can help them save greatly on costs as kids ride free.
