Ontario’s minimum wage has risen to $17.20 per hour, a 3.9% increase from $16.55, effective today. This raise, tied to inflation, could provide up to $1,355 more annually for full-time minimum wage workers. Currently, around 935,600 Ontarians earn at or below this rate. Student minimum wage increases to $16.20 per hour, while guides and homeworkers also see increases. Ontario now has the second highest minimum wage in Canada, just behind British Columbia’s $17.40 rate.
