Investigators have released the name of the victim in Durham Regions 7th homicide of 2023.
On Sunday June 18th, 2023, at approximately 9:40 p.m., members from West Division responded to a housing complex at 1580 Kingston Road in Pickering after receiving reports of a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located one male who had been shot. Officers and paramedics performed life-saving measures; however, the male died at the scene.
The victim has been identified as a 17-year-old male, Anthony DIXON.
There is no suspect information currently available; however, at this time this appears to be an isolated incident and police believe there to be no threat to public safety.
Police are encouraging anyone with information or video footage, including dashcam and home surveillance, to contact police.
