The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad have arrested another young person in relation to a carjacking robbery investigation.
On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, police responded to a carjacking robbery that occurred in the Millwick Drive and Islington Avenue area.
It is alleged that:
- the victim was standing outside of his Jeep Wrangler vehicle that was parked in a parking lot
- three males approached the victim, one of them produced a handgun and made a demand for the victim’s keys
- as the keys were inside the Jeep, the armed male entered the vehicle and drove away from the scene
- as he drove off, the Jeep struck a light pole in the parking lot
- the driver then crashed as he turned onto the street
- all males then fled the area on foot
Officers from 31 Division quickly attended the scene, were able to locate all three males and arrested them.
It is further alleged that:
- immediately after the arrest, officers located a replica handgun inside the Jeep Wrangler
A 15-year-old boy, of Toronto, was charged with:
- Robbery With Firearm
- Disguise With Intent
Members of the Hold Up Squad continued their investigation and were able to identify another male involved in the robbery.
On Monday, May 16, 2022, a 17-year-old boy, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery With Firearm
- Disguise With Intent
