Alia Bhatt has heightened anticipation for her upcoming action thriller Alpha by sharing new promotional images as the film enters its final week before release.
The actress posted two new photographs on Instagram showcasing her intense action-packed look from the film, accompanied by the caption: “7 days to go. #Alpha releasing in cinemas from July 3.”
The post quickly drew enthusiastic reactions from fans, with many expressing excitement about seeing Bhatt headline an action film. Several praised her transformation into a full-fledged action star ahead of the movie’s release.
In recent interviews, Bhatt described Alpha as one of the most enjoyable films she has worked on, saying the project challenged her in entirely new ways.
“I had such a good time making Alpha. It’s probably one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve had on a film set,” she said. “There was something really exciting about stepping into this world of action, scale, and adventure. It pushed me in ways I hadn’t experienced before.”
Bhatt also highlighted the film’s female-led narrative, noting that it was refreshing to see two women at the centre of a large-scale action story.
“We don’t get to see that very often and I had a lot of fun being part of that. Alpha is a celebration of attitude and a celebration at the movies,” she said.
The recently released trailer introduces Bhatt’s character, Sita, who embarks on a high-stakes mission after being trained by Bobby Deol’s character. The trailer features intense action sequences and references to the Ramayana, including Sita declaring, “Sita aaj Lanka khud jalane aaye hai,” along with another reference to “agni pariksha.”
The film also features confrontations between Bhatt and Sharvari, as well as Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol, with Hrithik Roshan making an extended cameo appearance.
Produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Shiv Rawail, who previously helmed The Railway Men, Alpha is the seventh instalment in the YRF Spy Universe. The film stars Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol, and is scheduled to release in theatres on July 3.
