Canadian businessman Frank Stronach has been arrested and charged in a sexual assault case, according to Peel Regional Police.
Police reported that Stronach, 91, from Aurora, Ontario, was arrested in Peel Region, west of Toronto, on Friday. He faces five charges: rape, indecent assault on a female, two counts of sexual assault, and forcible confinement.
Stronach is the founder and former CEO of Magna International, an auto parts manufacturer, and the father of former MP Belinda Stronach.
The police allege that the sexual assaults occurred from the 1980s to 2023. Peel’s special victims unit led the investigation. They stated that there is more than one alleged victim but did not disclose the exact number.
Stronach’s defense lawyer, Brian Greenspan, said in a statement on Friday that Stronach denies the allegations.
