Applications are open year-round for the Town of East Gwillimbury’s (EG) Youth Support Fund (YSF). Apply today to receive funding for spring and summer programs including Summer Camps!
The YSF – Youth Assistance provides confidential financial assistance to eligible EG families, ensuring more young people can stay active, healthy, and connected in the community.
Families who may benefit from the program are encouraged to apply, and community partners are asked to help spread the word to ensure the fund reaches those who need it most. For more information about the Youth Support Fund or to apply, visit eastgwillimbury.ca/YSF.
“The Youth Support Fund helps ensure that financial strain doesn’t hold our EG families back from participating in recreation activities,” said Virginia Hackson, Mayor of East Gwillimbury. “This fund is incredibly close to my heart as I started my career in recreation and know just how important sport and recreation programs are for children’s development. The focus of this Fund is to remove financial barriers ensuring more youth can experience recreational activities. By supporting local families, we are investing in the well-being of our youth and the strength of our community.”
The YSF is made possible through proceeds from the annual Mayor and Council Charity Golf Tournament, with funds directed back into the community to support families in need.
Application requirements include being an EG resident under 19 years old experiencing financial struggle. Applications should be submitted prior to registering for programs and proof of program registration is required once approved. The Fund also provides financial support to EG athletes participating in national and/or provincial level sporting events.
Applications are accepted throughout the year and are handled in strict confidence. An external volunteer Application Review Team reviews all submissions to ensure they meet the fund’s eligibility criteria.
