In the quiet community of Schomberg, Ontario, the RCMP say they’ve dismantled a massive synthetic drug “super lab” capable of producing millions of dollars’ worth of illegal substances. The raid — part of a months-long investigation — uncovered an estimated $10 million in drugs, including MDMA, GHB, methamphetamine, and several chemical precursors used to manufacture more.
Authorities also seized $8,000 in cash, multiple firearms, and an extensive collection of laboratory equipment, including pill presses and chemical glassware. Nearly 20,000 litres of hazardous waste were removed from the site during a 10-day cleanup operation.
Among those charged is Christopher O’Quinn, 47, the owner of O’Quinn Industries, who now faces 20 criminal counts, including drug production, trafficking, and weapons offences. Court documents reveal O’Quinn’s prior 2014 conviction tied to a Niagara police probe into the Outlaws and Black Pistons biker gangs, which targeted drug trafficking, extortion, and weapons smuggling.
In total, three individuals face 33 charges stemming from the Schomberg operation. RCMP officials said the investigation began in spring 2025 after they flagged a suspicious chemical order linked to O’Quinn’s company.
Chief Superintendent Chris Leather praised the operation’s success, noting that police “prevented a significant quantity of dangerous and potentially deadly substances from reaching our communities.”
