LCBO phasing out single-use paper bags in all locations starting sept. 5

LCBO is phasing out paper bags from LCBO retail stores, LCBO advises customers that paper bags will no longer be available in stores from September 5.

Customers are encouraged to bring their own reusable bag when shopping in-store, and alternatively, they may purchase a reusable bag. Boxes and 8-pack carriers remain available at no cost.

This initiative will help to minimize our impact on the environment and create a more sustainable Ontario. We thank our customers for helping us to take better care of the planet.

Additional background on LCBO’s bag options

• A 6 bottle bag and a large reusable bag are available for $2.95. Meanwhile, a new 2 bottle reusable bag will be available in early September for $1.25. These bags are made from recycled water bottles.

• A 4 pocket organic cotton bag is available for $14.95

• Our 8-pack carriers and used cardboard boxes are a free option for customers.

Gift bags remain available in store for our customers’ special occasions and seasonal bags are available for limited periods throughout the year.
